I just picked up the Tech 21 NYC Para Driver, a DI box with an EQ, drive control and mid-frequency shift. The amount of warmth and character it adds to your tone is incredible. Allow me to demonstrate.

The first riff you hear is just the Metal Zone by itself. The second is with the Para Driver turned on. Keep in mind, this is a direct recording and NOT a mic’d amplifier.

From my guitar, I went through my newly acquired Boss Metal Zone into the Para Driver and then directly into my MOTU 1224 analog-to-digital converter and finally into Logic Express.
